Cedar Hall Clinic currently sponsor six elite young athletes, all potential Olympians of the future. The athletes who include Gianni Frankis; Hayley McLean; Dale Clutterbuck; Sophie Riches; Joshua Olawore and Georgia Atkins.
SPONSORSHIP AWARDED TO MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNER DALE CLUTTERBUCK
Cedar Hall Clinic is delighted to award a treatment sponsorship to Basildon Athletic Club member Dale Clutterbuck. Coached by former Olympian and Commonwealth gold medallist Rob Denmark, 20 year old Dale is a middle distance runner who has excelled at all levels, winning two bronze medals at the English Schools Championships at 1500m in 2008 & 2009; silver in the UK Championships in 2008 followed by a bronze in the South of England Championships.
Serious injury curtailed his 2010 season but he bounced back in 2011 achieveing PB's in every event - 800m, 1500m & 3000m and won the Essex Championships at 800m & 1500m. He also competed in the Crystal Palace Diamond League at 3000m in front of a 10,000+ crowd, an experience which he thoroughly enjoyed and is keen to repeat.
With the 2012 summer season approaching Dale is hoping the Cedar Hall team can get him back to full fitness following a niggling injury so that he can train hard and achieve his set targets which include new PB's at 800m & 1500m, medalling in the BUCS Championships at the Olympic Stadium, making the Olympic finals at 1500m and also winning the U23 AAA championships. His long term goal is to be Olympic Champion at Rio de Janiero in 2016!
The Cedar Hall team will be working with Dale and all the sponsored athletes to help them achieve their goals in 2012 and beyond.

There was success for the other Cedar Hall sponsored athletes too! Olympic hopeful Gianni Frankis won GOLD at 60mH with a Championship record; Joshua Olawore in his first season at U20 (and aged just 16!) took silver in the Long Jump. Sophie Riches was a brilliant second in the Inter Girls' Cross Country at Essex Schools Cross Country Championships. We wish all our talented athletes the very best for 2012, especially Gianni Frankis who has a very real chance of selection for GB at the London Olympics

SOPHIE RICHES AWARDED FINAL CEDAR HALL TREATMENT SPONSORSHIP
Sophie Riches is a dedicated junior elite athlete who competes primarily over 800m and 1500m, but who also enjoys road racing and cross country. She has excelled at the highest level, achieving national success on the track at English Schools and National championships, has won the junior girls London Mini Marathon and has also represented England Schools twice at cross country. Sophie’s greatest moment to date however was to represent Great Britain at the 2011 European Youth Olympics in Trabzon, Turkey, where she won gold at 1500m.
Having had the experience of standing on a podium with her national anthem playing Sophie is now keener than ever to succeed as a senior international athlete. She has started 2012 extremely well recently winning GOLD in the 800m and GOLD in 4 x 400m in the National Junior League. Sophie recently won the 800m at the UK Schools Championships held at the Olympic Stadium in May.
Sophie is a member of Chelmsford AC and is coached by Christian Dailly. She is also an Ambassador for 2011-2012 for the Chelmsford Sports Ambassador Scheme. Sophie has been selected to be a torch bearer for London 2012.

CEDAR HALL AWARDS TREATMENT SPONSORSHIP TO YOUNG CHAMPION
Hot on the heels of the sponsorship award to Gianni Frankis, Cedar Hall Clinic has awarded its fourth
treatment sponsorship to champion athlete Joshua Olawore. Nationally Joshua won the English Schools Intermediate Boys’ Octathlon Championships at Exeter on 17th & 18th September winning three of the eight individuals events (long jump, 100m hurdles and shot) and setting a new club record points total of 5200 points which ranks him number 1 in the UK this year (2011).
By comparison that is almost on a par with Britain’s last great international combined event athlete Dean Macey who scored 5311 points at the same age.
In August at the England Athletics championships at Bedford Joshua won the long jump with a new personal best and club record of 7.20m, and at the same championships he also won a bronze medal in the 100m hurdles in another personal best & club record. Indoors last winter he won a silver medal at triple jump in the National Under 17 championships and was fourth in the 60m hurdles event.
At County & Regional Joshua won indoor titles at 60m hurdles & long jump, and followed up with county outdoor titles at 100m hurdles and long jump, and Essex Schools title at Triple Jump. Joshua is a potential Great Britain international athlete and has been nominated for an Essex Sports Award 2011. This would provide added incentive for him to work hard towards the next level of achievement at U20 (Junior Level).
Coached by Tony Benton and Trevor Wells, 16 year old Joshua is a member of Havering Mayesbrook Athletic Club and lives in Thurrock and we are proud he is now one of our sponsored athletes.

ENT SPONSORSHIP FOR PROSPECTIVE 2012 OLYMPIAN
Cedar Hall Clinic has awarded its third treatment sponsorship of the year to hurdler & prospective 2012 Olympian Gianni Frankis. Coached by former Olympian Tony Jarrett, Gianni lives in Pitsea and is a member of Newham & Essex Beagles Athletic Club.
Gianni claimed a silver medal at the 2009 European U23 Championships over 110m hurdles and this year he won silver in the Aviva European Indoor Trials & UK Championships 60m hurdles.
Having played semi professional football as a teenager Gianni’s true love always lay with Athletics and he has his sights firmly set on 2012.

ANOTHER LOCAL ATHLETE AWARDED TREATMENT SPONSORSHIP 
Cedar Hall Clinic has awarded another treatment sponsorship, this time to Hayley McLean, reigning U17 England Athletics Indoor Combined Events Champion and England Indoor 60m Hurdle Champion.
Hayley is a talented all rounder who is currently ranked UK Number 1 for 300m Hurdles, 60m Hurdles and the Pentathlon and is the English Schools' Intermediate Champion. She competed for the GB U18 team in the World Youth Championships in France in 2011 and was also selected for the England U18 team for the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Isle of Man where she ran a brilliant race taking the silver medal. Her form in 2012 has been outstanding, with PB's and medals galore. She was invited to take part in the BUCs at the Olympic Stadium in May, one of the youngest ever competitiors and came a brilliant 2nd with a new PB. The following weekend she went on to win an unprecedented three gold medals at the Essex County Championships.
Director and senior osteopaths Sara Lovett and Jacki Milne decided to award another treatment sponsorship as they were both really impressed with the committment and determination shown by Hayley to her training and her events. Jacki Milne stated "When Sara and I saw that Hayley, just like Georgia Atkins, was determined to attain the highest athletic standards, we took the decision to help all we could and so awarded her a full treatment sponsorship".
Hayley lives in Thurrock and is a member of Chelmsford AC. She is coached by Steve Mitchell. She is also an Ambassador for 2011-2012 for the Chelmsford Sports Ambassador Scheme
2011 - Hayley had a marvellous season! A personal best, a new UK record, a silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games - so many records broken. She also managed to achieve some outstanding GCSE results. Well done Hayley.
